We always enjoy seeing the team. Their service has been friendly and efficient for years, and it’s dog friendly too. On our annual seaside break, we come here for lunch, and it was everything we hoped for again: fresh, delicious food, a buzzing atmosphere, and outstanding service. The miso sprouts were excellent with my roast, my wife’s hake was spot on, and the kids’ meals hit the spot too. Whatever we order, it’s always good. We absolutely love coming here and hope they never change a thing.

We returned to The Cricket Inn for our second stay, eight years after our first, and it was just as lovely as we remembered. It’s a proper village pub, with gorgeous rooms, a great restaurant, and charming staff. Storm Ingrid was passing through while we were there, with waves hitting the building, which was rather scary. Everyone was reassuring, and there was no damage. We had a delicious dinner and a great breakfast the next morning. All perfect.

The staff made us feel so welcome, in a way that was friendly and professional. The setting was A star, and the food and service lived up to it. The scallops were so fresh, some of the best I’ve ever eaten. I’ve eaten in wonderful places, but this was exquisite for its food, service, and location. One of the best days of my life. Go before you die.

We had a coast walk before and after our meal, and the free parking made it easy. It was perfect for a day out, especially with the pub open on a Monday. The setting is gorgeous, the staff were friendly, and the food was absolutely top notch. I had the delicious seafood pancake, while my husband had lemon sole, with crispy chips and tasty samphire.

We’d definitely come back next time we’re in south Devon. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and really helpful. They had no trouble catering for gluten free and dairy free, and were happy for us to bring the dogs. The food was wonderful: I had the crab custard, and my wife’s fish and chips were a real treat since she’s gluten free.
