The barn was spotless, spacious and felt homely, making it a lovely holiday place. The garden slopes steeply down to a stream that gets deep and fast in wet weather. It’s nice for paddling, but children and pets need constant watching, as an open tunnel leads to a field on the other side of the road. We kept our dog on a long lead, and he had a great time. The road can be noisy and quite fast at times.

We felt right at home at Jay Barn and could happily have stayed forever. It was a perfect spot for a small family get-together: peaceful, in a beautiful setting, and only minutes from local amenities and the lovely Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water. The log burner on a snowy day was magical, and I already miss it. I loved the bare brick walls, beams and the stream in the garden. We had a great stay and will definitely book again.

The owners were very helpful whenever we had an issue, and the place is well situated for exploring the Cotswolds. It is very close to the road, though.
