The host’s character and willingness to stop for a chat made up for the rooms feeling a little dated. He was happy to suggest places to visit, things to do and good times to go. The rooms were clean, tidy and cozy, and we really enjoyed our stay. The freshly cooked food was tasty too.

We found this place by chance after missing the Cairnryan ferry, and I’d happily return. Spotless, with a lovely room, friendly and accommodating people, and great food.

The pub landlord made us feel extremely welcome, and the beer was good too. The fish and chips were amazing, and the chicken curry was a proper homemade delight. Would definitely recommend.

A proper traditional Scottish local pub, with a good range of beers, including real ale, at reasonable prices. It’s dog-friendly in the bar, and there’s excellent Wi-Fi. You can also use the darts and snooker table.

I spend many weekends enjoying the hospitality here, and can confirm the hotel is still open. Home-cooked meals are served in the lounge on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 5pm to 9pm. The public bar and lounge bar hours are Tuesday 7pm-11pm, Wednesday 5pm-11pm, Thursday 5pm-midnight, Friday 4pm-midnight, Saturday 2pm-midnight, and Sunday afternoon 2pm-7pm.
