There was plenty of room for our friends and family, and we had everything we needed for a proper getaway. We played team games on the grassy area, and the zip line and trampoline were a lovely bonus. A perfect place to spend time together.

The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, and the location is brilliant. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place, and we were given a really friendly welcome. Well worth a stay.

The dog and the kids loved this retreat. The cottage and the hamlet around it gave us a real chance to enjoy nature, with all its demands and pleasures. It’s a rare, beautiful spot where you can properly relax and get away from modern life and the rat race.

We spent a wonderful week at Crownwheel Cottage, a perfect escape from the daily grind. Set down a no through road, it’s wonderfully quiet, with no road noise, just the river bubbling past. The cottage was clean, spacious, and had everything our family needed, plus more. There are lots of beautiful beaches nearby. Dittersham was our favourite place to visit. We went crabbing on the jetty, then got pizza from the pub on the quay, which is absolutely worth a visit. Paignton zoo was great for the kids too. The new owners were fantastic hosts, friendly and helpful.

The three nights here were wonderfully restful after our intensive hikes and explorations. Thank you to Gill and Iain for such a lovely spot. Tucked away and sheltered deep in the valley, it still felt close enough to walk easily to Slapton Beach/Slapton Ley. The mill stream rushing in the background gives the place a medieval atmosphere.
