Our waitress was brilliant, so attentive and helpful. The problem was the chips. I ordered them as a main because the only vegetarian main was cauliflower, which felt uninspiring and expensive for what it was. The menu labelled the chips vegetarian, but they clearly tasted as though they'd been cooked in meat fat. I tried one and asked others to check in case I was imagining it, and they agreed the taste was very meaty. As a vegetarian, I'd be wary of eating there again. There was also a man at the next table who asked us to be quiet, then spent the rest of his meal on his phone. That's not the restaurant's fault. The service was great, but it's a shame the kitchen cooked the chips in meat fat.

We found the room very comfortable, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bottled water and biscuits replenished each day. We stayed at the Falcon for a couple of nights. The staff were very friendly, showed us to our room and carried our bags, and the whole place is very dog friendly. I had a delicious vegetarian roast, while my husband had a generous serving of fish and chips. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that. It was very good value, with a great atmosphere, and I'd happily recommend it.

The food was hearty and delicious, good value, and the service was very good. Four of us had a fun Saturday lunch at the Falcon while staying in Painswick for a few days. A cheerful waiter deserves a mention: he took our photo and kept up some nice banter. The wine list was simple, and mostly inexpensive. The Falcon feels more like a restaurant with a small bar, while the nearby Oak is more of a pub with food. We'd return if we're in the area again.

The room we had to ourselves was lovely, the food was delicious, and Ahmed was a real star. Nothing was too much trouble, and he looked after all of us so well. We chose The Falcon Inn for our first Christmas dinner out this year because they could fit all 21 of us. They were accommodating from beginning to end, and made the meal such an enjoyable occasion. I'll definitely recommend the place to friends. Thank you all!

It was a cosy stay in a lovely little town, with friendly staff and an ideal location. Parking and check-in and check-out were easy too. We had dinner at the pub and really enjoyed the food. It was just what we pictured, and then some. I'd love to return.
