I only dropped off a friend, rather than staying myself, but she said she got an exceptionally good night's sleep. The place seemed clean, quiet and good value. The reception manager was welcoming and helpful, and there were boards pointing out lots of local places of interest.

The view from the room was pretty good too, and I hope I can come back one day. It was heartwarming to see staff making groups of teenagers feel at home while everyone stayed considerate of those around them. That’s what a YHA should be about. Another great stay at YHA, with a well-run hostel and phenomenal shower pressure.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location made it easy to get to both the beach and town. Our six-person private dorm was excellent, with a beautiful view, and the YHA exceeded what we expected. I was careless and lost my license at the hostel. I asked around but couldn’t find it, then several weeks later the YHA kindly sent it to me in the post. Thank you so much, yha swanage!

My fourth YHA stay, and probably my favourite so far. It’s close to the action in town and well placed for getting around. The rooms and common areas were great, the showers good, and breakfast tasty.

It’s a great base for hikes, beaches and exploring the local area. I loved the hostel, and the kitchen area was tidy and spacious. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend it.
