I’d been reading about this place since I was young, so visiting was a bit humbling. We were in town looking into Goddard history, and it was a fun stop. My lunch was very good, and there was a very good selection of draught Beer. I added some photos of the goddard legacy from their walls.

The food and drinks were great, and Will made a fantastic host. My friend and I had a bottomless brunch, with a really warm welcome and staff keeping an eye on us throughout the full two hours. We’ll definitely be back.

There’s always sport on, and the Guinness is lovely. This is one of our favourite pubs in Swindon, with a great location, friendly staff, and affordable, fab food. There’s also a strong choice of ciders, ales, and lagers on draught.

The breakfast came with the room, and for such a reasonable rate it was huge. I couldn’t finish it all. The sausages were a bit overdone, but everything else tasted lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient, and we’ll definitely return. We had a lovely Valentine’s stay. We watched rugby in the bar after arriving, went to the cinema, then came back for a few local drinks and a comfortable night’s rest. The only downside was a noisy fan outside our window, and no, I don’t mean a football fan :-) :-)

The shower was REALLY GOOD, which earned the extra star. My room was fine for what I needed, and the staff were friendly, lovely, and efficient. Breakfast was okay, though there was no bread on the second morning. It’s in a good spot for eating out, with parking, and the station is around a 30-minute walk away. Keep in mind the walk back is uphill. Rooms facing the road get a bit of noise. I stayed two nights and would come again.
