What an amazing room for a last-minute booking. The owner welcomed us warmly, showed us straight to the room, and explained where everything we needed was. I couldn’t fault a thing, and I loved the underfloor heating. I’ll definitely return on future visits.

Room 1 was beautiful, warm, and full of lovely features, with quality decor, and it was amazingly cheap. We checked in early as arranged without any trouble and slept really well. The owner got us settled in quickly and was great. We booked because we were attending a local wedding, knowing the property was a work in progress. That was clear on arrival: it’s a large house with lots of nice features, but building work was happening everywhere. It took a minute to get the owner’s attention because he was working elsewhere. I can’t comment on the other rooms, and I understand the rooms in the outbuildings aren’t as good. Still, the owner is improving everything, including a bar and lounge that both look like they’re being finished to a high standard. Once the work is done, this could be a real gem of a hotel and worth a higher rate. If you book, be aware the construction may still be going on for months. Look past that if you can, and ask for room 1 if possible. I’d go back, and I think the place will be great this time next year.

The cocktails were really nice and reasonably priced, so I’d recommend them. I had an amazing room with a very comfortable bed and a cosy wood burner downstairs. The people, including the waiters, were so kind. The friendly people downstairs helped make me feel safe and gave me a really good experience. It left me happy and wanting to visit and stay again.

The value for money was superb. My room was huge, bright, modern, and spotlessly clean, with a gorgeous bathroom, jacuzzi bath, and soft lighting. It had the biggest, most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in.

For a cocktail place, these were terrible. I don’t know what brands of alcohol they use, but after two cocktails I had awful reflux and felt terrible the next morning, like I’d drunk battery acid.
