I was looking forward to buying a book because the selection looked good, but watching the shopkeeper berate an Amazon delivery driver in front of customers changed my mind. He’d accidentally left her parcel with a neighbour, then ran to get it for her. She still wouldn’t let him leave until he grovelled at her request. I won’t spend my money here after seeing how rudely she treats service staff. Her response only showed me she can’t reflect on what happened. She keeps repeating the same issue to make it sound worse, rather than recognizing that delivery drivers are people who make mistakes and fix them. She escalated a minor problem into an argument and tried to shame and humiliate him. I don’t recommend shopping here or supporting someone who thinks yelling at service staff is okay.

Some of the rare books here are well worth a look, and the shelves cover a colourful range of eras. I always make a point of stopping in when I'm in town, whether to browse, buy, or have a chat. The booksellers are among the friendliest I've met. Highly recommend.

I popped into this quaint shop today (12/06/22) and came away with a couple of books. There's a lovely range to choose from, but what made the visit was meeting Rhona. We felt like kindred spirits 💜, and I could happily have sat with a cuppa chatting for a couple of hours. Such a lovely owner ⭐⭐⭐
