Ironbridge Lodge

Tracey is a lovely person to talk to and an amazing host. The lodge is beautiful and clean, with everything needed for sleeping and cooking, so it felt like a home from home. Tucked away in Ironbridge, it's a little gem, with amazing views and a really peaceful setting. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

The slugs come out overnight and leave trails everywhere, which we really weren't keen on. Inside, Huntsman Lodge is rustic and tolerable if cobwebs don't bother you, but the place is looking tired. There's a rotten step at the deck entrance and the outside looks uncared for. For the price, the facilities are disappointing: not enough crockery for four of us to have breakfast together, and the TV has no signal, so we can't even check the weather or news. We've messaged the hosts, but they haven't been very responsive about sorting it out. They didn't show us to the lodge either, just pointed us to the track gate and said the key was in the lock. After reading the other reviews, our stay has been a letdown.

I've stayed twice now, and both weekends were perfect. The lodges are clean and tidy, and the host will do anything she can to help. It's hard to ask for a better little getaway.

We chose well when we visited in April. The accommodation had all the facilities we needed and was in a great spot, just a five-minute drive from Ironbridge, which is great too.
