We were staying nearby and came in for an evening meal. The menu had plenty of variety, and the food was well presented and sensibly priced. It’s honest, good pub food rather than haute cuisine. The staff were cheerful and friendly, and it was excellent value.

We stayed twice and both visits were really enjoyable, thanks so much. It’s a great place for a meal or as a B&B guest. Our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well presented. Breakfast had a good choice, and I can highly recommend the full English to set you up for the day. The menu is very good too, the desserts are something else and the staff are excellent. A great find, and I’d happily recommend it.

We parked our campervan in a fairly level spot near the river, ate a very good evening meal at a reasonable price, then stayed the night. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and we had a full English breakfast in the morning. Definitely worth a visit.

The staff were really friendly, and my daughter loved her chicken tikka while my other daughter enjoyed her pizza. But we visited on Tuesday evening after a busy Easter weekend, and several dishes weren’t available. My husband and I ordered chicken schnitzel, but it wasn’t schnitzel. It was a breast with some sort of breadcrumbs, very dry, and the sauce was poor. I dipped mine in tikka sauce instead.

The decor is beautiful, but the service was terrible. We came at 1pm on a Saturday in April, with only two tables eating, and waited ten minutes just to get served a drink. There were two staff members, neither acknowledged us or made eye contact. I had to ask if anyone was available, and was told, “They’re busy!” I won’t be hurrying back. They need to learn people skills and pub management.
