We had a very nice breakfast the next morning, with continental options and plenty of choice. The host was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant and bar at the property have had to close, but there's a nearby pub serving evening food, or you can drive to Stroud for a few restaurants. We stayed overnight at Queen Matilda country homes, in Avening, a short drive from Tetbury and Stroud. The Matilda has three rooms, all exceptionally well kept, well equipped, clean and tidy. In summer, there's a nice outdoor seating area with a sun umbrella, table and chairs, if the sun decides to shine. We'd recommend Queen Matilda and hopefully stay again. We then had a pleasant day at the Cheltenham cricket festival.

James, thanks for the warm welcome and the time you took to chat with us about all sorts of things. The host was great, the room was lovely, and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.

Jo kept in touch well while we arranged a dog-friendly room, and greeted us warmly when we arrived. She showed us to a spotless ground-floor room with everything we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was included, and it was great value for money. It's a shame the Inn has closed, sadly because of soaring energy bills affecting many pubs across the country. I'd definitely return if I'm in the area. Thanks, Jo.

We only stopped over briefly on our way to RIAT, so it was a shame we had so little time. The location is beautiful. We arrived late, rang the bell downstairs, and Jo explained everything about the stay. When we said we'd leave early and miss breakfast, she arranged a takeaway buffet for us. The room was immaculate and very modern. Ours was up a flight of stairs, so it wouldn't suit someone with a disability. I don't know how many rooms there are or whether any accessible ones are on the ground floor. Jo also suggested a great local Indian restaurant in The Bell pub, and the food was excellent. Five stars from me.

The owner is just adorable, and the service and breakfast were great. I stayed at the Queen Matilda with a friend and had a fantastic time. The bedroom was beautiful and modern. I'd definitely recommend staying there if you're looking for a night in Tetbury.
