Hartnoll Hotel

We loved the Hartnoll Hotel. It has a relaxed style with old-school elegance, and the grounds, rattan furniture and conservatory dining room were superb. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, though I like my food piping hot, so that was my one small note. We were there the night before a family breakfast gathering after my sister-in-law passed away. Our cosy double had no view and looked onto the flat roof and air conditioning units, but it was extremely comfortable. I adored the curtains, the beds were mega comfy, and the bathroom was smart, excellent and very up to date. It was good value for the money. All the staff were amazing, including the incredibly glamorous and efficient Romanian receptionist. Nelson, the restaurant manager, was outstanding. He noticed I’d declined a bread roll and brought more sauce for my delicious trout main course. He also arranged a private dining room for our family the following morning, which was so kind and felt very intimate for such a sad gathering. His team were well trained and made it a really lovely visit.

The meal was very good, and our attentive server found us a lovely table in the conservatory. Everything was clean, the breakfast had plenty to choose from, and there was lots of it. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were all brilliant. We stayed one night, had nothing to fault and will certainly return.

For my husband’s birthday we had a fabulous lunch in the garden. The staff were so helpful with everything our three generations needed, and the food was delicious. Service was efficient, with attentive waiting staff. Thanks for making it such a special occasion.

For my 70th birthday, our family had lunch at The Hartnoll Hotel yesterday, and the team looked after us so well. The food was sensational, and the warm, personal service came with thoughtful little touches. You can see how much hard work has gone into making this place stand out from everything else locally.
