We were really well looked after by the friendly, helpful hosts, and the food was generous and excellent. Our room was spotless and well equipped, with plenty of space, and the shower room was roomy too, with a large shower and great pressure. We liked having access via the fire escape and a view over the pretty courtyard. There’s good parking as well. We’d happily recommend it and hope to come back soon.
The owners were friendly, and breakfast was good. Our room had a comfortable bed and a good shower, though it got very hot on a hot day. Bring earplugs for the road and Clock tower noise. One tip if you’re driving towards Cornwall: don’t follow Google Maps, or you may end up on a real adventure along tiny roads.
The rooms are above the pub. Mine was clean, the bedding was fresh, and the bed was comfortable, with a warm shower too. I arrived late on my way to work and the owner still gave me a warm welcome. I had to leave early, so I didn’t get to try breakfast.
Trudi was lovely with our two children, and made us a packed lunch for the journey when we had to leave too early for breakfast. That was such a kind touch. We stayed one night with the family while passing through, and arriving late was no problem. The room was beautiful and clean, and the bed was super comfortable. We’d recommend it and stay again next time we’re in the area. Thank you.
The breakfast menu has something for everyone, and the location is handy, just a two-minute walk into town, not too busy, and only 5-10 minutes from the M5. We got a warm, friendly welcome and found the rooms clean and fresh. There’s a secluded car park at the back, and you come in through the beer garden, which looks really welcoming with the lights on in the evening. Definitely recommend it, and I’ll stay again when I’m in the area.
