We brought our parents to The Swan in Bampton to celebrate our engagement, and Jack and Charlotte helped us quietly arrange the surprise beforehand. The roast they made was one of the best I've ever had, and every plate was lovely. They couldn't have been more thoughtful or accommodating. We've been regulars since Jack and Charlotte took over, and it has quickly become one of our favourite places. It still has the feel of a proper village pub, with good local ales and a relaxed atmosphere. The food from Jack's kitchen is far beyond what I'd expect at a pub, and could hold its own in many Michelin starred restaurants. Charlotte makes everyone feel welcome out front, and Alf the dog is part of the charm. It's warm, generous and full of character. We're lucky to have The Swan in Bampton.

We were staying at a local Airbnb and came here for dinner. The food, service and pub dog were all lovely, and we weren't rushed at all. Everything on the menu sounded so good that we had trouble choosing. The ingredients, presentation and especially the taste were fantastic. I had the hogs pudding sausage, my partner chose the scotch egg and soup, and we finished with panna cotta. The two women serving us were great, and Alfie the dog was a hit. If I lived nearby, this would absolutely be my regular place. I'm so glad I got to try the food. I'd give it ten stars if I could.

We had a beautiful meal at The Swan, and the food and service were fantastic. We've always loved this pub, and under the new owners it seems to be getting better and better. It's a beautiful place, and the owners deserve every success. Give it a try!

Everyday favourites here are already well above expectations, and the steak nights are incredible. The Sunday roast is the best I've had outside my wife's kitchen, and it might even beat hers. The atmosphere is great too. The staff are friendly, attentive and engaged, and seem genuinely proud of their pub. Bravo. X

We were driving past after saying we fancied a really good meal, so we stopped on a bit of a whim. What a lucky find. The meal was fabulous, tasty and generously portioned, with high quality food and a lovely atmosphere. The chefs and the rest of the team made us and our doggo feel very welcome. Highly recommended, well done!
