Abberley Guest House

Jackie made us feel welcome and shared some useful tips about the area. Each morning she cooked a brilliant breakfast, including black pudding. Parking was fine every day, and the place was very clean and comfortable for our few nights. Thanks again!

Jackie is a lovely host, happy to cater for my vegan needs, and she knows the local area so well. The spotless rooms are comfortable and have lots of nice little touches. We’ve stayed twice, including once at very short notice, and found it a real gem. Abberley is about a ten minute walk from Babbacombe Downs, with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. We can’t recommend it enough!

The owner was attentive and happy to help with anything, and we could come and go to our rooms as often as we liked during the day or evening. Four of us stayed for three nights while visiting relatives, and we’d happily return. The guest house was very clean, and breakfast was wonderful. We could pick our breakfast time and choose different combinations from the full English each day. I’d recommend staying here.

We had the Family Suite, with two connected rooms and an ensuite in each. It was spotless, stylishly decorated and just right for three or four people. Jackie is easygoing and friendly, and serves a varied breakfast with a smile. The village and Downs are an easy walk away. We’d absolutely stay again.
