Avron House

We only booked at the last minute, so I feel lucky we found this B&B. The hosts made us feel cared for from the start. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms clean, and after two nights the hosts already felt like friends. It’s a lovely location, far enough from town to avoid the rabble but still close enough for a pleasant walk to Torquay or Babbacombe. Local taxis are reasonably priced too. They really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome, and we’ll definitely come back.

We stayed for part of Easter and got such a warm welcome. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and the service was first class. The homemade Easter biscuits and little box of chocolate eggs were thoughtful touches. I’d recommend this friendly, quiet, clean place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Torquay area.

The rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the owners and staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast is cooked to order, with your choices arranged the day before. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Babbacombe and 15 minutes to Torquay. I’ll check availability here next time I’m staying in Torquay.

I couldn’t stay at the other hotel I’d booked because it was unsatisfactory in so many ways. Andrew and William came to my rescue with a beautiful room, a warm welcome and lovely food.
