The setting was lovely, with sea views from the garden, and The Thatched Tavern has plenty of character. The staff were welcoming and the service was good, which made our family birthday lunch enjoyable. My slow-cooked beef rendang cost £18. The flavours were good, but the portion and presentation felt underwhelming for that price. I expected a more substantial dish that looked more appealing, and came away a little disappointed about the value. The food didn't live up to the price or surroundings. We enjoyed being together, though I'm not sure we'd return soon just for the food.

The Thatched Tavern pub is charming, with a gorgeous outdoor area, and the service was excellent. We stopped in for a Sunday roast while staying in a nearby holiday let, and the food was absolutely delicious. We weren't disappointed at all and would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. We'll definitely be back.

The beef was roasted just right, and the vegetables were properly cooked. It was all presented very nicely, making for an excellent Sunday lunch in lovely surroundings. I've been trying Sunday lunches at pubs around the area, and this was a good one. The portion was a little small and £22 felt a tad expensive, though.

The food was lovely and locally sourced. The restaurant is in a lovely thatched inn, though the interior is modern. The car park can get very busy during summer holidays and bank holiday weekends.

We'd booked ahead for a meal with family and friends, but as soon as we sat down we were told we had two minutes to order because it was last orders. That rush left me unable to choose properly. The waiter and waitress were unfriendly and kept watching to see whether we'd finished, which spoiled the whole meal. A very poor experience, especially in this cost of living crisis. I'm not happy at all.
