The peaceful grounds and gardens have beautiful views across the valley, and I really enjoyed the quiet and solitude. Inside, the furnishings were comfortable and to a high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped, with a dishwasher, and I appreciated the welcome pack of cupcakes, homemade bread and milk. The fire had also been made up for my arrival. The bed was excellent, and I had some of the best nights' sleep I've had in ages. The heating was totally inadequate, though. There were only three radiators: one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom that didn't work, and one in the downstairs twin bedroom. The lounge was very cold at night, and there was no heating at all upstairs in the master bedroom. I don't usually go on holiday to be cold. Maybe the owners could add some convector heaters for winter. Despite that, I did enjoy my stay, and I imagine the cottage would be lovely in summer. I'd have given it three and a half stars, but Google wouldn't let me.
