We had a lovely time, absolutely. The house was decorated nicely for Christmas, and once it warmed up it was really cosy. The lounge was roomy and comfortable with lots of seats, and the bedrooms were clean with generous beds of average quality. There was plenty of room for 24 people to dine in the conservatory, though it was draughty because the windows didn’t fit well. The two dishwashers were a good size. There were some practical problems. It took a day to get hot showers working, and the fridge wasn’t enough for a large group. This house needs two fridges and two cookers if it’s catering for big groups. We found a previous guest’s wallet down the side of the sofa, and there was mould in one of the machines, so the deep cleaning wasn’t great. Getting answers to questions online was rubbish, and the emergency number didn’t answer at all when we called for help on arrival. Luckily, we didn’t need a plumber or anything. Would we come back or recommend it? Yes, but in summer.

The garden had deer gathering in the early hours, and cows were right beside the neighbouring fence. We really enjoyed spending a week in the main house, with all its grand rooms. The facilities were really good, and the female owner was friendly. The bedroom beds could be addressed, though, and the wetroom floor stayed soaking wet.

The family provided most excellent food, and we loved the big, rambling house. We were there for a day to see a summer pantomime written by p James and performed by the James family. Best fun we’d had in a long time. I’d recommend the place for large family gatherings.

Brilliant views from this nice, big house, and it’s in a nice location.

Lovely and peaceful, and beautiful both inside and out. ❤️
