The carvery was excellent value, with generous portions of meat, a great choice of starters and wonderful desserts. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch in a gorgeous, elegant setting, with attentive staff and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back soon.

We’ve booked another visit already and can’t wait. That Sunday lunch was one of the best we’ve had. Everything at the carvery was superb quality, and the medium rare beef was exceptionally tender and juicy. I don’t usually go for dessert, but the two-course deal had such a good selection on display that I tried the torte. I’m so glad I did, it was amazing!

The Scottish barman was an absolute hoot and looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely family lunch in the pub part of the hotel in early April, with superb service and excellent food. Thanks for a lovely experience, we’ll be back.

We’ve already been back and would happily return again. The location at the very south end of windermere is great, and there’s free parking. We stayed twice on budget deals, but everything was still up to a good standard. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent, and staff were mostly friendly and helpful, though there’s always one. The two log fires were lit and made it cosy.
