Never again. Room 207 was dirty, poorly maintained and had a strong, unpleasant smell. It genuinely seemed as if a large, unclean dog had recently been in there. I understand Travelodge is pet friendly, but I’d expect designated pet rooms so guests could choose not to stay in one that had been used by pets. We’re not opposed to dogs, but we wouldn’t knowingly sleep in a room showing clear signs of recent pet occupancy. There were also cobwebs, visible mould and dirt in several corners, which made it look as though cleaning standards weren’t being met. When I politely asked reception whether a dog had been in our room, the response was dismissive and unhelpful: “This is a pet-friendly hotel, I cannot guarantee whether or not a dog has been in that room.” No alternative was offered, and there was no effort to address the concern. Her manner was rude. This fell well below reasonable expectations, and I’d expect the matter to be taken seriously. I had photos but can seem to attach them here. I will attach on trip advisor.

I’ve been living there since September through the council, and it really couldn’t be better. The rooms are perfect and cleaned to a very good standard. Staff are fair, approachable and communicate really well. They engage with you as best they can. Top marks, I highly recommend this hotel!

The room needs improvement. There were hairs in the bathroom, which didn’t seem properly cleaned, the carpet had visible stains, and the room smelled odd when I arrived. The shampoo dispenser was empty too. I really appreciated how pleasant and helpful the receptionist was, and the service was good, but the condition of the room was disappointing.

The room was perfect and the WiFi was very good, though getting logged on was somewhat difficult. This was by far the best price in the area. Just be aware the breakfast is cornflakes and flapjack in a box. I wouldn’t have paid for it if I’d known. It is mentioned on the website, but it isn’t easy to find.

We were visiting friends in the far South West, and Wadebridge was the closest Travelodge. It matched my previous experience with this budget chain: clean, tidy rooms, and the building looked like it had recently been recarpeted throughout. There was plenty of parking on site, and the staff were pleasant and helpful when approached.
