We had a brilliant week, especially passing through Henley while the Regatta was in full swing. We’re already looking forward to another trip. Le Boat’s team were exceptional, and our Magnifique was clean, well kept, comfortable and surprisingly roomy for two people and a dog. It’s one of their less luxurious boats, so next time we may choose something fancier. The beds were a bit hard, there was no mains electricity, and our boat was missing a few nice extras, like a table and chairs on the top deck. The route was flexible, and having our car taken to the destination boatyard was great. Early check-in and late checkout made the trip feel relaxed. We’d never driven with this company before, but found the whole experience better than trips we’ve taken with other companies, especially a famous one beginning with ‘H’. The end-of-trip charges matched what we’d been told at the start and didn’t seem excessive, despite what some other reviews said.

We had a lovely family cruise on the River Thames, hiring a boat for the four of us from the Benson base. None of us had driven a boat before, but we got the hang of it easily. Working the locks took all four of us, with each person having a job to do. The weather was lovely, and we’re already planning another hire. I’d recommend Le Boat 100%.

The staff were friendly and ready to help with anything. We had a great family holiday, and it was dog friendly too. From Benson, Abingdon is only a few hours away, a pleasant spot for an overnight stop. There are some nice bakeries for breakfast and the Abbey grounds are wonderful to explore.

We hired a Tango for a long weekend, and I found it really easy to steer as a novice. The boatyard staff were so helpful, with lots of useful tips and advice. The Thames is beautiful, and I can’t recommend a more relaxing trip.

The boat was spacious and more than up to a Thames trip, though it was quite old and short on modern comforts. We were shown how things worked and set off, but it broke down two hours later. The backup team came and fixed it. The same issue cropped up again as we returned to the yard, which was a shame. Otherwise, the break was okay. I hadn’t realised diesel was charged separately from the hire, and our round trip from Benson to Henley used £170 worth.
