The staff were great, and breakfast was decent enough. The room had some space, but there was an overpowering cleaning product smell, as if it was being used to cover up something worse, maybe mould or old cigarette smells, or something else. I really wanted to like the place, but I’m not sure it deserved the three stars I felt compelled to give it. I should’ve left after the first night, but stuck it out.

We stayed for two nights after arriving in England from Perth, Australia, and the Holiday Inn Express made us feel very welcome. The staff were warm, helpful and friendly, the rooms were comfortable and had everything we could need, and the amenities were fabulous. We had delicious meals with plenty to choose from. We can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely return. Thank you.

At Holiday Inn Express London Watford, I found the room clean, modern and comfortable, with a good bed and all the essentials for either a short or longer stay. Staff were friendly, professional and ready to help. Breakfast had a nice mix of hot and cold options, though the scrambled egg was dry. The location near the train station is great, and it’s good value for money.

They asked me to review a stay I never had. That’s the part that really topped it off. I’d booked, then no longer needed the room, so I called weeks ahead and was told everything was fine. Later I was charged £111 and told the cancellation hadn’t gone through. Without the name of the woman I spoke to, apparently there was nothing they could do. I understand they had no record of the call, but I didn’t think I needed her date of birth, National Insurance number, passport details and address as proof. I can’t comment on the room, staff or breakfast because I was at home in Birmingham. No slammed doors or horns there, so the most peaceful hotel stay of my life, really. For £111 I’d at least have shown up for the sausage and hash browns. The hotel’s nerve in asking for this review gets five stars from me, though. Hope they appreciate it. Have a nice day!

The room was clean and fine for our needs, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities we needed. We also had breakfast there. The space is quite small and gets a lot of foot traffic, but the food was nice and kept being replenished. We arrived in the morning and left our luggage at the hotel while we went into London. When we came back that evening, a friendly gentleman checked us in.
