We had such a lovely time at the Beryl for my 40th birthday, booked by my wife earlier this week. Holly and her adorable little dog, Teacup, greeted us and made us feel at home straight away. We stayed in the Butterfly room, which was spacious, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, with lovely views. The house has beautiful decor and a warm, inviting feel throughout, and it’s quiet and relaxing, with amazing grounds to explore. Breakfast was gorgeous each morning, with a good range to choose from, and the afternoon cake was delicious. The owners and staff greeted us with a smile every day and were always available for questions or recommendations. We hope to be back very soon.

The pagoda beside the little lake was a lovely place to sit on a summer evening, and I know that memory will stay with me. My wife and I chose the Beryl for our 11th wedding anniversary, and it was an amazing choice. The beautiful room had a wonderful bathroom, the service was excellent, and breakfast was fantastic, especially the most delicious kippers I’ve ever tasted. It has a warm, homely family atmosphere, and we’ll definitely return. I could keep listing superlatives, but I can’t praise or recommend it highly enough.

The garden at Beryl House is hard to describe, and the whole property is beautiful and very well maintained. We travel a lot, but rarely have I stayed somewhere so clean and immaculate. Holly gave us a very warm welcome, and Matthew’s cheerful hospitality will stay with us. Breakfast was a wonderful start to each day. We’ll definitely be back.

The gardens are beautifully kept, and the grounds are stunning. It’s only a short walk to Wells, with views towards the cathedral and Tor. The family running Beryl made the stay feel special, with friendly service throughout. Our immaculate, luxurious room was very comfortable and well appointed, with an amazing bed. Breakfast was delicious, afternoon tea was a treat, and time by the pool rounded off a perfect stay. Can’t recommend Beryl enough. We’ll be back.

We’ve been lucky to stay at Beryl twice, and we’re already looking forward to many more visits. Holly’s hospitality, Matthew’s enthusiasm at breakfast and Mary-Ellen’s brilliant cooking, including the homemade cakes, make this family-run place feel so warm. The suites and surroundings are calming, too. It’s a perfect spot to unwind, catch your breath, and explore Wells or the surrounding countryside. Can’t wait to return.
