The Northumberland Arms

We spent a couple of days here after New Year as a base for walks. I’d already had lunch here before, so I knew the food was good, and the room was great too. The place has a lovely feel, and the team were great. On New Year’s Day we were in the bar, which was loud, rowdy, and a lot of fun. Good value for what you get. Thank you.

We managed to book an early evening table that same day for Sunday dinner. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. There was a little wait, but the place was busy, so that made sense.

The meal was tremendous as always, especially the shared Cote de Beouf. It was hearty and succulent, and well worth recommending. Trevor and his team gave us a very warm welcome for our post-Christmas getaway. Lorna and Gary, keep up the amazing guest experience. Until next time.

The vegetables with our roasted lamb leg were full of flavour, and the cauliflower cheese we added was a great call. I started with the leek and potato soup, which was honestly delicious. We brought our dog and booked a table in the bar. The place was incredibly dog friendly, with water and treats ready for them. Everyone was lovely, from the person we spoke to on the phone to the attentive, welcoming staff when we arrived. We’d been craving a roast and The Northumberland Arms did not disappoint. Fantastic experience, we’ll definitely be back!
