We booked at £85 a night, but our booking was cancelled because there was a big event that weekend. I called to ask what had happened and got a very rude woman, who said the price was wrong even though three sites listed it at £85. I can understand a small increase, but going from £85 to £200 is taking the mick.

We stayed for my birthday in October. The room was spacious, lovely and clean, but the shower was disappointing and took about 10 minutes to warm up. There was scaffolding outside the bedroom window, rattling and banging in the wind, so I didn’t sleep well. The lady I spoke to on the phone was quite abrupt. When we left, there was nobody to ask how the stay had been, just an instruction to put the keys in a box. The experience could have been so much better.

The view was described as sea-facing, but all I could see was a block of flats. The shower also took ages to warm up, and the lamp kept going out whenever I moved on the bed. For the price, it felt a bit overpriced. Would I stay again? Nah, I'll give it a miss.

Great location, and the room was clean, modern and had a comfortable bed. It was smaller than I expected, though. Make sure you switch the heater on.

Brilliant for families of any age, with lovely views. The food and drinks were superb, and the charming staff did everything they could to make our time enjoyable. 10/10.
