We usually stay at the hotel opposite weatherspoons, but this was our first time here. The woman at the desk was welcoming and lovely. When she noticed my bad leg, she moved us to a room closer by. We stop in weston about seven times a year for one night, since our caravan in Devon is roughly halfway, and we'll definitely use this hotel on future trips.

The bed was comfortable, we felt safe, and the location was perfect for our plans. It was cheap and did the job, and I'm glad we got it for such a low price. I wouldn't say it was worth more than £50 for a night. There are worse hotels in Weston-Super-Mare. The room had little space to move around the beds, which looked like camp beds, though the mattresses seemed decent. The coffee and tea area, spoons, blinds and curtains were dirty. The pillowcases smelled used and unwashed, and there was lots of light coming in at dawn because there was no blackout. The bathroom was below average for cleanliness around the floor edges. Its toilet roll holder and storage were loose and pulling away from the wall, as was the slanting shelf under the mirror. There was no bathroom lock, though the shower was fine. The owners were only minimally friendly to me and cold with my friend. Breakfast wasn't being served.

The staff were a delight, and the location was amazing. We hadn't expected the entertainment, but the Tom Jones tribute was a joy. Exactly what we needed for the price!

The next morning, the hotel manager seemed unaware that I’d been moved to a different room or why. The front desk had apologised the night before and transferred me after I called about the bed bugs. I found several crawling on both beds late at night. The manager’s lack of awareness makes me think this may happen more often than it should, and could be part of a larger infestation. I was travelling on an international flight home the following day, and pest control advised me to throw away all my belongings. I discarded my clothes, souvenirs, makeup and everything else I’d brought, then had to buy new clothes and other things so I could get home without looking absolutely insane. I'm still afraid I brought something home. The manager begrudgingly refunded about 110 dollars for the night. Don't risk it. Avoid this place at all costs. There are other hotels in the area.
