The peace here is hard to beat. You mostly hear birds, ducks and frogs, with no music allowed outdoors. We loved how private the place felt: the five modern one-bedroom lodges are well spaced apart, face the lake and each has its own fishing stage. Ours was spotless and had everything we needed, plus a sauna and hot tub tucked away from the other lodges. I’d give it more than five stars if I could. We’ve already booked for next year.

We had a wonderful, really relaxing week by the lake. The wildlife was lovely, and having both a sauna and hot tub made it even better. The accommodation had everything we needed. Fantastic place, and I’d recommend it.

The owners were lovely, and the grounds are beautifully mature. We found the lodge to be a high standard, too. Weybread lodges is one of the best places we’ve stayed in the UK, especially if you want somewhere quiet for a restful break. The pictures explain it better than I can, and I’d recommend it.

Our bikes were easy enough to park on the firm ground, though the gravel made turning them a bit awkward. We found it easier with a little help, especially as both motorcycles are very heavy. We stayed in the Willow Lodge, which felt quiet and secluded, with its own sauna and hot tub. The tub is screened by fencing, so it’s very private, and you can barely see the other lodges. There’s a washing machine and dishwasher, and everything else we needed. The one drawback is that there’s nowhere within walking distance for a coffee or a small bite to eat, but that’s a small trade-off for what you get. Each lodge also has its own little jetty for fishing, if that’s your thing.

Waking up to a deer outside was magical, and the views from the windows are lovely. We were lucky with the weather, so relaxing in the hot tub in the sunshine was a treat. We spent four nights in Kingfisher lodge and found it clean, easy to use, and wonderfully private and quiet. Whenever I had a question, I texted Sally and got a quick reply. It was worth every penny, one of the best places we’ve stayed. I’d love to come back, and would recommend it to anyone after a peaceful break from work and everyday life. A real 10/10 for a lodge.
