We picked Bowleaze Cove for a reasonably priced, good quality family break in the UK and would definitely recommend it. We’re already looking forward to making it an annual trip. Our eight-person, dog-friendly caravan, Jordan Hill 16, was spotless and well stocked with towels, bedding and utensils. The hot tub and decking were great, and the seating area caught the sun. We were nervous as it was our first family holiday with our eight-month-old baby girl, but check-in was simple and we got welcome boxes with tea, coffee and biscuits, plus one for the dog. The park was lovely and well kept, with green spaces and lots for little kids, including parks, soft play and a pool. Adults had a beach bar, arcades, spa and sports bar. I loved the dog shower and wash-off area, and the onsite Spar was well stocked and reasonably priced. Staff at all the vendors were friendly and welcoming. The food at The Drift and The Arena was tasty and well priced. We were there for five days at the end of April, though, and most of the food outlets were closed the whole time, so we missed trying most of them. It was a shame the ice cream spot wasn’t open alongside the beach bar. Check-in wasn’t officially until 4pm, which felt late, while checkout at 9:30am seemed early in comparison.

We’ve come several times a year since having our own kids, and I’m onsite now already looking forward to returning in June. I’ve been visiting Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park for over 15 years, ever since my in-laws, who’ve come every year for more than 30 years, introduced me to it. We still call it Waterside ;). The Waterside Group has made this a top-class caravan park in a beautiful location. The facilities are tremendous, and they’ve made lots of upgrades over the years. It’s clear they reinvest so much in the park to raise the standard and improve the experience year after year. I really like the sports bar upgrade this year, with soft play, an arcade, darts, shuffle and access to the outdoor pool. There’s also a fairground, beach park, outdoor shack bar and restaurant, clubhouse, swimming pool and sea-view cafe, among other things. Plenty to keep the kids busy. Great staff too. I applaud them for improving our holidays every year and always recommend the park to others. I never write reviews, but this one deserves all the praise. It’s my wife’s dream to own a caravan here, and I hope to make that happen one day before the kids get more independent. Thank you, Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park and the waterside team! da iawn 👏

Our caravan at 100 Greenhill was spotless when we arrived, and Alex had done such a good job that we could settle in straight away. We got there early and a really welcoming security guard greeted us, so we enjoyed the site while we waited for the caravan to be ready. It’s a great place for dogs. Mine got a welcome pack with a bowl, toy, towel and poo bags, and there’s a dog wash near the beach. The caravan had its own pack of supplies too, which was a lovely idea. The new sports bar, the arena, was fantastic and the food was lovely. The chip shop takeaway was a letdown, though. The chips were so overcooked we couldn’t eat them. There’s a regular bus that comes onto the site for easy trips into Weymouth. We stayed for three nights, April 10th-13th 2026, and would definitely come back. Thank you.

The facilities themselves were excellent, and the pool is especially good for families with young children. The setting is beautiful too. But the way security dealt with us took away from what should have been an enjoyable family break. We’d booked three accommodations for our family holiday, yet the security staff felt consistently unwelcoming. I wasn’t greeted or treated politely, and there seemed to be no effort to make my children or me feel welcome. When I tried to go into the bar, I was stopped abruptly and asked if I was a guest. To me, the questioning felt provocative and unfriendly, rather than like a routine check. I understand why security measures are needed, but the way they were handled left me uncomfortable and unwelcome. The small security team didn’t match the quality of the venue.

We booked this break because we have a small dog and understood the place to be dog friendly. Yet there wasn’t a single bar where we could sit inside with the dog. The Drift was the only restaurant, and it was just a restaurant, not a bar. We were there for my mum’s special 75th birthday and couldn’t find anywhere on the park where our family could enjoy a few drinks together. This should have been made clear when we booked. We were thoroughly disappointed, especially as other holiday parks in Weymouth are truly dog friendly and more accommodating. We won’t be returning to this supposedly 5 star park, which felt more like 3 star.
