About a mile outside town, it's surrounded by lovely walks and there's a five-minute stroll to the beach. The views of the Whitby coast are heavenly, and there are stunning walks and spooky history nearby. This is a beautiful traditional pub and hotel, dressed nicely inside with a log fire and a fine pint. The staff are wonderfully friendly, the welcome is warm, and the food is beautifully home cooked. There's onsite parking too. If you're in the area, don't pass it by. Highly recommended. 👌

We had a great break in the dog-friendly annex. The accommodation was very good value, breakfast was included and very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The beer garden is great, and the hotel's location is excellent. We'll be going again. One recommendation: replace the bathroom doorknobs with handles. They can be hard to turn with wet hands or a poor grip. This isn't a complaint, just a suggestion. Thanks for a great break away. Regards Jon and Janet Dench

The location is ideal for coastal walks west of Whitby, and my room was huge, comfortable, and had amazing views. Breakfast was excellent, especially the perfectly cooked kippers. I had to leave very early on my last morning, and the staff kindly packed breakfast for me to take along. A fantastic hotel in every way, highly recommended.

The hosts were charming and friendly, and they topped up our condiments while we were out. Our annex room was lovely and clean, with amazing sea and cliff views. It's about a 20-minute walk along the cliffs into Whitby. The only downside was there was nowhere to plug in my fiancée's hairdryer in front of the mirror, as we were asked not to remove the plugs underneath. Otherwise no complaints, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The views are spectacular, and the place is absolutely beautiful. I was impressed by how many Glunten Free options there were. My chicken supreme was amazing, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. I'll definitely return.
