Premier Inn Wigan - M6 J25

The room was clean and warm, and I had a comfortable night. I love the beds here, and we stay at Premier Inns all the time, so there were no issues with the room. We were just stopping for one night on the way to Scotland. Breakfast was a letdown. I paid for the continental option and asked for porridge at the Brewers Fayrs next door. It arrived in a bowl that looked as if it had exploded in the microwave, wasn’t cleaned up, and only had about half a serving in it. The coffee machine listed cappuccinos and lattes, but when I asked for one because it wasn’t dispensing them, I was told that the machine only made what it was making. The pastries, bread and fruit all looked dry and unappealing. The fruit was a few apple slices, grapes and old oranges. We had toast, but the breakfast was so poor for the price that we didn’t pay for it when we came back three days later. I bought porridge pots, fruit and pastries from a shop instead and enjoyed that much more. A shame, as fresh food and decent porridge would have earned more stars.
