Denecrest Guest House

The hosts gave me a heads-up before we arrived and suggestions for things to do in the area. They also accommodated my early check-in request and decorated our room for my son’s birthday. When we were running late, the host even gave us a lift to our restaurant booking in Bowness. Great service, a clean room and really great hosts. It’s very central to Windermere town and the bus station. I’d highly recommend it!

We felt at home and very welcome. The owners were really friendly and helpful, and gave us a safe place to store our four bicycles. Everything was super clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was lovely, with a free coffee machine and mugs and bowls available if you bring your own breakfast, or you can order breakfast there. Thank you!

Breakfast was delicious, and the host even made us Ukrainian pancakes as a treat 💓 The clean room had everything we needed, including a big smart TV with Netflix. We felt really welcome and comfortable. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but that was my only complaint. I’d happily stay again when I’m in Windermere.

We arrived at Chris and his wife’s guest house exhausted after being scammed and left with nowhere to stay in Windermere. They were fully booked, but still cleared a room so we had somewhere warm and safe. Their kindness and thoughtfulness got us through a horrible situation, and Chris even spent time helping us work out how to try to recover our money. We won’t forget that. The guest house is beautiful and immaculately kept, right in the heart of Windermere with transport links close by. We’re so grateful to Chris and his lovely wife for turning such a nightmare into a warm, welcoming memory. I can’t recommend them enough.
