The house is kept to a really high standard by its fastidious owners, and the quality and amenities put many five-star hotels to shame. We’ve stayed at Wansfell for several years, and each visit seems better. It’s in the best location, and we’ll be back. Highly recommend it.

House number 2 comfortably fitted our group of eight adults and two children, with four large bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. We especially enjoyed the private garden, which the kids made full use of, and the views were breathtaking. The decor suits both the house and its setting, and every room is beautifully done. Gillian and David were welcoming and lovely to deal with. They gave us useful advice about walking into Ambleside and other things to do. We had a brilliant weekend at Wansfell Holme and will definitely return.

It’s close to all the places you’d want to visit, while tucked away from the busy tourist spots. A beautiful setting and a fabulous place to stay, with just the right location for a Lakes holiday.
