The timber supports gave the room a lovely old-world feel, and we really enjoyed our stay. It was a nice touch to get a welcome cookie, too. The staff were courteous and kept to safe distancing, which made us feel confident. We also got a complimentary upgrade to an executive room, which was a bonus. The mill's historic charm sits well alongside its more modern additions.

We had a comfortable, spacious suite, and the staff were lovely. They put on something every evening, including a brilliant Halloween party with live music and spooky entertainment. Breakfast didn't have a huge range, but there was something different on offer each day. I enjoyed my stay and would happily come back.

The bathrooms feel fresh and modern, though the rooms themselves are dated. The shower pressure was so poor it was barely enough to shower under. During Covid, breakfast was a grab bag that had to be booked. My company booked one for me. On the first day it included a warm breakfast roll, but there were no hot rolls available the next day. If 30 bags are booked, surely there should be 30 hot rolls ready. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

The damp patches by the window and on the bathroom ceiling let the room down. There were tea stains on the carpet, too, where people seemed to have missed the bin under the desk when putting away teabags. The rest was lovely. Customer service was first rate, and the food came hot and was nicely presented. The location was nice, the bed was comfortable, the linen and bathroom were clean, and there was plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room.

The parking is plentiful, and the barrier gives it a secure feel. I've used the conferencing suites several times. They're nicely decorated and have the essentials, though there's nothing particularly special about them. I'd prefer a ceiling-mounted projector rather than one taking up desk space. The usual tea, coffee, spring water and biscuits are provided, but better coffee and a wider choice of refreshments, such as mints, cakes, soft drinks or healthier snacks, would improve things. The foyer and toilets look modern and chic, and the restaurant buffet has been excellent on two separate visits. A nice place for meetings, and maybe somewhere I'd stay as a guest one day.
