I booked one cottage for my cousin and his friends, who were catering my pre-wedding party, and another for my groomsmen, who had travelled from abroad for my wedding. The owners made the whole party feel unwelcome and questioned our integrity and responsibility, even though they knew it was for my wedding and my parents live locally, so we would be accountable. We checked out of one cottage late the day after the wedding, and I apologize for that. The owner called me repeatedly the next day to harass me about it. They also made a racist remark about President Obama to my best man, who was visiting from Canada. I don't think the owners represent the people of Oldcotes or the region, and I told the other guests that. I'd give one star because Google requires it to post a review, and because the accommodation did provide shelter.

Clean, tidy cottages that feel like a real home away from home. The owners are friendly and welcoming. I'd gladly stay again and recommend them.

The kitchen was dirty, and the instructions had faded. The owners weren't friendly either.
