We chose this place for a weekend wedding at Northside Farm. It's perfectly located, only a 10 minute drive away, and getting an Uber was easy. The room was really good, with a comfy bed and an amazing shower. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and you can really feel that it's a family-run business. The pub had lots of locals in, a lovely beer garden, and a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone made us feel welcome, staff and locals alike. I've stayed places where you feel like an outsider, but that wasn't the case here. There's another pub just a stone's throw away called the balck bull, which is also amazing and stays open late for anyone wanting to carry on the party. Highly recommend. We liked it so much we're thinking of spending a weekend there just because we can.

The food was a real letdown. The bread buns weren't edible, and the chicken burger was burnt and only just edible. If we hadn't been so hungry and it hadn't been getting late, we'd have left.

We came as a group of eight and all enjoyed our stay. The welcome at the ship inn was amazing, and I'd like to thank the owner and staff for making us feel so at home. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was adequate and included a complimentary breakfast, and the village was friendly too. I'd also like to compliment the chef on a lovely Sunday lunch. Thanks again.

The family running this gem were so welcoming and happy to help with anything. We had a brilliant two-night stay and Sunday lunch, and we'll definitely be back. Thanks for making our stay so lovely.

We had a great deal for a one-night stay last weekend, and the location worked well for the places we were visiting. It was our first time in the area, and we had a nice evening here. The place was clean as soon as we walked in, with Christmas decorations already up and a cosy, warm feel. A lovely young woman greeted us, helped us, and took our payment. Parking around the back was easy, and we were reassured the car would be safe. I was shown upstairs to check that the room matched what we'd booked. It was clean and fresh, with beautiful bedding all ready for us, and there were plenty of towels. After a full day exploring different places, the clean bathroom, spotless carpets, and very hot shower were just right. The room was quite big, but the radiators kept it lovely and warm. There was also a fireplace and a small TV for the evening. In the morning we enjoyed coffee made with the kettle before leaving, and we slept really well in the quiet, safe area. The downstairs bar was lovely, with drinks and food and great hospitality. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely return. There are lots of pubs and two mini supermarkets nearby to keep you going.
