The room, corridors and bar were decorated so nicely that the hotel felt more like four stars than three. We booked a family room for four and got a much bigger room than expected. Staff welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived, and they even let us check in a little early. We'll definitely return.

Staff were great, friendly and happy to help, and the bar area had a really relaxing feel rather than that usual hotel-bar atmosphere. The room was clean, with a lovely view from the third floor, and the bed was big and comfortable. It's a budget hotel, so don't expect extras like a fridge. The station is a six-minute walk away and the city centre takes about ten minutes on foot. I'd stay again.

The room was clean and had what I needed, including a kettle and safe. The shower room was excellent, with plenty of space and hot water. I also appreciated the friendly young woman at reception, who said I could check in early when I had only planned to leave my bag. The station is just a ten-minute walk away. The downsides were the dirty steps and cigarette ends at the entrance, and my room faced two lifts that were constantly in use. Even with earplugs I barely slept. The older man at reception could do with some training in how to welcome people and smile.

It's in a good location, and the staff were friendly, patient, knowledgeable and attentive in the right way. Breakfast was decent, but the room was only okay. There were five steps up from the door to the room, with the en suite at the top. A motion sensor controlled the stair light, but it was so sensitive that rolling over in bed set off the very bright light and disturbed my sleep. There was no towel rail, and the bedroom door was difficult to shut. We reported it and were told staff had heard about the problem before, so I don't know why it hadn't been fixed. After one room refresh, we came back to find the bedroom door not properly closed. The hotel entrance also has five steps, and its access lift was out of order for our entire five-night stay, leaving no access for people with significant mobility issues.
