We had 22 people staying, and after shifting some furniture we were all able to sit around the dinner table for Christmas dinner together. The location is great, about a 10-minute drive from York. The rooms were nice and the beds quite comfortable. There were several problems during our stay, including broken lights, overflowing grey water and a shower without temperature control, along with a few smaller things. Luckily, the handyman fixed most of it promptly.

We booked the farmhouse and three cottages for a hen do, and it was the best venue I’ve ever been to. The rooms were a great size, everything was clean and as described on the website, and the beds were really comfortable. There was nothing to fault. Thanks so much for having us, we can’t wait to come back!

The place was clean and tidy, but the beds were poor and need replacing if they’re going to charge a premium price.

The location suited us well, with walks and fields around outside the town centre, plus shops and York a short drive away. We had a lovely week with my elderly mother and father and our dog. Cottage 3 was clean, tidy and a good size for us. It was all on one level, which helped as Mom struggles to walk far now. I’m looking to book again for my wife’s birthday in November.

We stayed in cottage 8. The cottages are spacious and have everything needed for self-catering, and the BBQ and hot tub were really good. It’s a convenient spot with an easy drive to York. The downside is being close to a busy road, so it can get noisy with the windows or doors open.
