Safestay York Micklegate

The relaxed common areas made it easy to unwind, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Safestay was clean and comfortable, with a handy location for getting around the city. Good value too. I’d happily stay again.

The city centre is about five minutes away, and the railway station took around ten minutes to reach. We spent two nights at Safestay York and found everything fantastic. The room was clean, and the staff were welcoming. I’ll definitely return.

The breakfast was a good continental spread, and there’s a water dispenser available all day in the dining area. I was happy staying here. The hostel is in a lovely old building a few streets from York Train Station, and the staff were warm and friendly. Dawa was especially attentive while I ordered coffee and food at the bar. My eight-bed shared room was clean and tidy, though a bit cramped, with a small ensuite and two bunks sticking out from the wall. The bunks had curtains all around, and the windows were nice and large.

This is a historic town house around 300 years old, and most rooms explain what they were originally used for. The dorm rooms are fairly standard, but the privacy curtains around each bunk make you feel tucked away. I had a lovely time. All the staff were friendly, helpful, and smiling. Highly recommend.
