The Stable Suite @ York Racecourse

There were four of us, two adults and two kids, and our room had one large bed plus two singles, with enough space for everyone. It came with tea and coffee, enough for two, and had a nice bathroom with an overhead shower. The TV was positioned awkwardly, so not everyone could see it. Breakfast was good, plentiful, and had a good selection.

The room was a tiny shoebox, just a single bed, a bunk bed, a wardrobe, and a sink. My boyfriend and I had to squeeze onto a small mattress. Toilets and showers were shared separately, and the walls were so thin you could hear everything, even down the hall. The photos really don’t show what it was like: just a plain white box, no nice decorations or big comfy beds. A dog kennel to sleep in. Absolutely not worth the 200 quid for 2 nights. It was advertised as a hotel, but felt like a hostel. It’s disgusting and incredibly illegal to advertise it as a hotel. I’m never going back. There are loads of nicer places that are worth their prices.

Julia on reception was lovely and really helpful 💫 The room stayed nice and warm with the radiator, and the toilets were very clean and warm too.

Catherina and I went to York for a cheeky little weekend away and stayed here. Honestly, the hospitality was absolutely fabulous, as good as or maybe even better than you’d get at a 5⭐️ hotel 😀 💖👌🏼
