Tower Guest House

We were pleasantly surprised by our one-night stay at the Tower Guest House. The room was lovely and very comfortable, with modern amenities and a charming feel. There was a bath and shower, plenty of outlets, plus a kettle and fridge. Street noise was minimal. We arrived early and were allowed to park, and the owner kindly took our luggage inside. Town was an easy 10-minute walk away. When we came back that evening, our bags were in the room, along with the wine and plates we’d brought. We’d definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a guest car park and is about an 18-minute walk from York city centre. We spent three days here and would definitely come back. They send a hotel app link that lets you open the hotel and bedroom doors and adjust the heating, so everything was easy to manage.

The self-service breakfast worked well, with the option of a cooked sandwich, croissant or muffin too. We’ve tried three of the beautiful rooms so far, and they’ve all been exceptionally clean. There’s safe, private parking, and the walk into York centre is easy to follow. There’s also a bus stop right outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved how easy the guest app was to use, especially for unlocking the entrance and our room without carrying a key. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the room had everything we needed, from tea and coffee to shampoo and shower gel, plus free Netflix. We didn’t use the Hub on this one-night stay, but it looked like a lovely, well-stocked place to sit. I was concerned about noise because the guest house is on a main road near the hospital, and our room was close to the entrance and stairs. We didn’t hear anything. It’s a 15-20 minute walk from the centre, with free reservable off-road parking. A regular number 6 bus stops right outside, and our evening taxi back cost less than £8. We’d come back to try the other rooms.
