Travelodge York Central Micklegate

We had to switch rooms because the toilet was leaking, but the staff helped us quickly and moved us straight away. The rooms were lovely, the staff were lovely, and the shower was nice and hot. I’d have liked water bottles in the room. Breakfast was great the morning I had it. Good value for money and had everything we needed. I’d stay again.

A clean hotel in a very convenient location. The staff were professional, polite and helpful, especially Lucy at reception, who checked us in and sorted out some key problems we had. I’d definitely stay again.

The staff gave us a lovely welcome, and the location is handy for both the train station and city centre, within walking distance. Breakfast was nice, though the food that was there wasn’t replenished. We paid £420 for the room for two nights, with breakfast extra. The family room for three was so small there was nowhere to swing a cat, and there was no place to store clothes, so we lived out of our suitcases. The key kept refusing to work. We were in room 103 and barely slept either night. Street noise was horrendous, with a nightclub a few doors away, people yelling, shouting and arguing on their way home, and cars racing up and down until 5am. We’ve been coming to York for a long time and love the city, but we won’t stay here again.

The hotel is dated, but it’s in a very convenient central York location, and the staff were friendly. Our room was old and very warm, though it was very clean. Breakfast was average and tasted like it had come straight from frozen packets. The sausage especially wasn’t great.
