Batumi West Hotel

The manager was so welcoming and considerate. She upgraded us from the double we'd booked to a queen bed, and even returned my laundry free of charge. The other staff were friendly and accommodating too. The hotel is affordable and easy to reach from the tourist areas. I really loved my stay and highly recommend it.

The price was fair, and the central location made it easy to walk to the main areas. Our room was clean, though the air always felt a little stuffy. The walls are thin enough that we heard neighbors talking and plugging electronic devices into the wall, so bring earplugs. Reception service was good during the first few days, when a young Russian guy was there. In the last days, the Russian lady, who seems to be the owner, handled our payment questions in a frantic and unfriendly way. All in all, it was OKish, but I'd avoid asking the owner questions.

The hotel was good, and the location is great, within walking distance of the boulevard. There's a shared kitchen for preparing food and free parking right in front. I'd love to come back when I visit Batumi. I took off one star because the room had twin beds, although the pictures on booking.com showed a double bed for the room we booked. They helped by putting a king size othopaedic mattress over the beds, which made things a bit better. I hope the Hotel updates the pictures on booking.com.

The location is ideal, and the housekeeper kept everything really neat and clean. The decor is bizarre, though: turquoise, mustard yellow, fuzzy grey bedding, fake tiles, and a pink shower curtain. The air conditioning worked very well, but we struggled to close the window/door. The walls are fairly thin, so I heard my neighbor's alarm and detailed conversations. Breakfast was decent, though the coffee was hard to choke down. The staff were very nice :)
