The room was very dirty, with mosquitoes and broken faucets, and the owners were unprofessional. The place is far from the city center. They didn’t even provide mats outside the bathroom. At checkout they came over aggressively to demand extra money for making the room dirty. A pathetic experience. I’d sleep in the car before checking into this hotel.

It’s an affordable option for a night or two, though not the best hotel. The staff are friendly and speak English. It’s around 10-15 minutes from the train station, in the market area rather than toward the city.

I’ve never stayed in a worse room, and that’s saying a lot. The front desk lady was nice, so I gave it an extra star, though I don’t think she understood when I asked if anything could be done about the mosquitoes. There was no hot water in the shower, either. I changed rooms after the first night because mosquitoes kept buzzing in my ears. I’d already killed eight in the new room. After wrapping my head in a towel to keep them off, I left my nose out to breathe and it got covered in bites. This place has a serious bug problem.

There were no windows, the sink leaked, and the bed was tiny and hard. The ventilation screeched, and the night guard was drunk. I could go on. Terrible stay. Get out while you can!

Batumi is a lovely, cute place for a vacation, with a wonderful beach on the Black Sea and nice places to ride bikes. It’s a very small city, but has all the infrastructure and lots of good restaurant options. The people are very nice. I loved being here and having new life experiences. It’s a new entertainment city in Europe.
