Miramare Magnetic Beach Hotel

The sea and beach view from the hotel is amazing, and the breakfast was fantastic. It's a brand new hotel, with clean rooms and a modern, clean bathroom. The location isn't ideal if you need to be in Poti, and there are fewer staff around in winter, which is understandable. I wouldn't compare it with other five-star hotels, since that rating probably suggests things like a pool, massage, or fitness facilities. Still, many five-star hotels are 25 years old, while this one was amazing for the price, $50 a day in winter.

Service was the biggest problem for us. Every staff member we dealt with seemed annoyed and unwelcoming at best. The fitness center listed in the hotel information was permanently closed, and using the advertised rooftop jacuzzi required a reservation fee of almost half the nightly room cost. The hotel was relatively new when we stayed, but the finishes felt cheap and were already aging quickly. It's also poorly located, with a drive or a long walk needed to reach town.

We especially enjoyed the restaurant food and the lovely view from the window. The hotel is clean, spacious, and cozy, and the staff's attentiveness and daily cleaning made the stay feel carefree. Miramare Magnetic Beach Hotel is a real oasis if you're after comfort, good service, and the sea nearby. One thing to know: smoking isn't allowed on the balcony, which helps keep things comfortable for all guests.

We weren't satisfied and won't return. We booked two sea-view rooms with kitchens through booking.com and paid a month ahead, but on arrival they said only single rooms met our criteria and gave us a lower-grade room. The rooms weren't cleaned each day, the beds weren't made, and sheets weren't changed. They only topped up towels and the mini bar. Construction of extra buildings in the hotel garden was also very disruptive. We never had enough towels for the beach because they said they ran out every day. Breakfast was very ordinary. We had to leave before the end of our five-day booking. They promised a 30% refund for the unused days but never sent it, and they don't answer messages on Booking.com.
