I had good food and really good coffee here, but my last visit was a very unpleasant experience. I’d stopped by five times in the last three days, twice for meals and three times for coffee and drinks. Today, when I came for my last meal in town, the waiter said his boss thought I spent too much time there without buying enough. If you go, apparently you need to spend plenty to keep the boss happy, or you might get treated the way I was.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the mountain view was amazing, even for Kazbegi. I’d been searching everywhere for well-cooked salmon in kazbegi, and this was the only place I found it. It was heavenly. The food was delicious and nicely served.

The prices and portion sizes seemed okay, but the ingredients didn’t, and the food quality was really poor. Service was a mess too. They greeted us and showed us to a table, then ordering took ages, and waiting for the food took even longer. We were five people and waited more than an hour just for one portion of mushrooms. The staff seemed kind, but couldn’t give us useful information about what was happening in the kitchen. There were only two tables occupied. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

Panorama restaurant in Gergeti village is a great place to eat, with a friendly atmosphere, comfort, and good service. The Georgian and European food is the best in Kazbegi, and beyond.

The owner was really helpful, and the breakfast she made for us was great. It’s a cozy, lovely place, kept very clean, with a nice kitchen area where guests can cook their own food. The bathroom was clean and nice too. I loved staying here.
