Alexs Cosy Guesthouse

Mr. Alex is a friendly, decent man who was supportive to everyone staying there, and the room was comfortable too. It’s a good choice if you need somewhere reasonably priced. From my experience, the service matched what I paid for, and I think it’s a great place for the price. Don’t expect a cheap room to feel like a five-star luxury hotel, and don’t be put off by the bad reviews.

Alex and his dad run this guest house, and both are kind, pleasant, and helpful. We stayed twice, first for four days and then for one, and they let us leave our bags there for a few days while we visited Yerevan, Armenia. It isn’t right in the city center, but bus terminals, the metro, and bus stops are nearby, and the city bus takes about 20 minutes to reach Tbilisi’s main attractions. We’d stay again. Wishing Alex’s dad good health, and thank you both for your kindness.

The room was basic, but the price was low, so I was fine with that. My balcony had grape vines all over it, and since it was harvest season I could just step outside and eat grapes. Alex and his dad were incredibly kind. I arrived around 11 pm, and his dad opened the door and insisted on carrying my heavy suitcase up the narrow stairs. He didn’t speak English, but used gestures to show me the facilities and explain how things worked. When I left around 2 am, both of them stayed awake, helped carry my case downstairs, arranged a taxi, and waited until I was in it. They wouldn’t accept a tip. Finding the right entrance was confusing in the dark. I didn’t see a sign for Alex's Cosy Guesthouse, and although the door had number 25, there was another white door beside it with the same number. Luckily, a woman passing by told my taxi driver to ring the bell at the brown door.

The hosts were friendly, and the rooms were a good size. The price is cheap, so the rooms are pretty average. I wouldn’t stay here if you plan to cook, because the kitchen was dirty and smelly.
