We stayed for two nights in a suite in the city centre. The room had a lovely two-way balcony with a great Mountain View, and the interior and furniture looked really cool. It was well maintained, more like a 5-star hotel than a 3-star one. The washroom was hygienic, and the western-style buffet breakfast tasted good. I wasn't happy about the water bottles being limited to one per day, with a charge for extras. At checkout, the curly haired receptionist wasted a lot of my time. She didn't take the room key to check, then I had to come down again, and she had forgotten to check the mini bar, so I went back up once more. She looked rude, and charged me for water I hadn't used. My cab was waiting, so I just left. Even with that, I had a good stay.

We came for the Christmas and New Year break, and the hotel had the feel of a Christmas movie. It's quaint and homely, and a nice choice if you want to get away from the busy city. The walk to the main road takes about 7-10 minutes. The path gets very quiet at night, though there's a bus station a short walk away for a ride to the main road. Staff were helpful and accommodating, even with the occasional language barrier. We had a lovely experience.

We picked this hotel because it's close to my brother, who lives in the city, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well kept and clean it was. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good, with Georgian-style food. It was also very reasonably priced. It's at the top of a steep hill and not close to the town centre, which is the one drawback. Still, a taxi takes about 10-15 minutes to get there and costs only 5 GEL, so it wasn't a big problem. I stayed for a couple of nights recently and was impressed.

A big thank you to the Alliance staff, especially Saba, for welcoming us and helping with our friend's birthday celebration on the night of the 31st. The female staff at breakfast were rude, though, which was concerning.

The staff were okay, and I'm grateful they took us at the last minute after the other hotel cancelled our booking because of flooding in the apartment. But our room was dirty, the pillows and blanket smelled strange, and the bathroom smelled as though someone had just smoked in it. There wasn't a foot cloth for after a bath.
