Freedom Square Apart Hotel

I’m still shocked by this experience. I wanted to book a month through Airbnb, and because I’m respectful, I messaged the owner, Aleksandre, to ask for approval before making the reservation. He saw the message but never replied. Then I noticed the room’s availability had been blocked so I couldn’t book it. I can’t see any reason for that. It felt deliberately disrespectful. Aleksandre has more than 20 rooms in three different hotels, so he could have offered another one, but he also stopped me from booking any of his rooms. I did nothing to deserve what felt like so much hostility. I’ve usually had good relationships with Airbnb owners and positive reviews. I’m a digital nomad, and in all my travels through Latin America, Europe, and Asia, I’ve never had an owner treat me with such disrespect and immaturity. If this has happened to you too, please consider contacting your booking platform. Aleksandre may have been doing this for a while, and if enough people report him, platforms like Airbnb and Booking might take action. I called Airbnb, and they said they take the situation very seriously. After this experience, I decided to cancel my trip to Tbillissi.

We couldn’t stay during our visit because the property we’d requested through a website wasn’t actually available. After we spoke with the owner, they gave us a full refund without any hassle. I’d still like to stay here next time we visit.

The service was wonderful, and the room was clean with good AC. Just be aware it’s on the second and third floors, with lots of stairs and no elevator.

For a fair price, you get a clean, well equipped hotel in central Tbilisi. Very nice.
